Teaching Philosophy
Teaching philosophy is putting beliefs into practices by showing examples or anticipating in classroom. As a student who currently studying education in language and literature majoring English, I need to have my own teaching philosophy. God wills it, I am a future teacher or lecturer. One of my teaching philosophy is not to be a scary teacher. One thing I learn from having a scary teacher is that they are able to discipline the students fast but the students only listen because they were scared, not because they truly respect them. As for me, respect is one of the highest form of moral ever planted in a soul. Those who do not respect shows they have low morality. I want to not only become my students' tutor but also a friend they need. I don't want their personal problem to affect their studies. But don't get me wrong, befriending my own students does not mean I will give them full access to step on me, it simply means I'm being slightly lenient with them. Apart from that, I want to make my class, English class a lesson they are going to love and tell their families when they go back home. My high school English teachers, Madam Zubaidah, Madam Wilarmy and Mr Stonton are my role model to have a fun yet full of lesson class. We enjoyed their class every time they enter as we did not feel pressure to study even though some of my classmates did not enjoy learning English before. I do not want to stick to the books or slides every time, me as a student too feel easily bored and sleepy to learn in such teaching styles. It is good to let them do some other activities related to their studies or tell them some stories or even let them tell their beneficial life stories. English should not be the subject the students hate to see just because they need to practice on the essays. English can be learn in various ways, even through acting, singing or choral speaking. Students should be encourage to join such activities to improve their English and self confidence. I have a lot of teaching philosophy but for the time being, these are all I can talk about. The others will be updated soon. 😇👋
Great teaching philosophies! I do agree that respect is one of the highest form of moral that should be planted in a soul. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, respect is in fact one of the root to be discipline. What is the highest form of moral you applied or intend to apply?
ReplyDeleteThe highest form of morale that I might intend to apply is that we must not act rudely such as using harsh words even if we are really angry or burst out. We should be able to control our own feelings and emotion.
